Our goal is to welcome over 500 participants for this brand new Get Your Rear in Gear 5K event! This is a certified and timed event. Prizes to the top over all male and female finishers!

All participants will receive a technical running shirt and goodie bag as well as complimentary door prize entries for the Pathways to Prevention Family Health Fair that immediately follows the Get Your Rear in Gear 5K event.

Join as an individual or sign up with family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers as a team! Awards for the largest team, most funds raised by a team, and most creative team apparel or identifier. An award also goes to the top individual fundraiser.

Proceeds from the event will assist the Minnesota Chapter of the Colon Cancer Coalition in their efforts ensure that all citizens of Minnesota have adequate information and access to screening for colorectal cancer and provide support for those who are diagnosed.

Pathways to Prevention Health Fair – Saturday, March 29, 2008 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
Join us at the conclusion of the 5K run/walk for a day-long cancer awareness and prevention health fair at the Rochester Civic Center. The Health Fair will be filled with creative, hands-on and interactive demonstrations for the whole family to learn about cancer prevention, screening and treatment. Tour a replica of an endoscopy suite, stroll through the giant inflatable colon, see a puppet show, and get great health tips and snacks!

Town Hall Meeting – Thursday, March 27, 2008
The goal of this meeting is to present the business case for providing preventative services, especially in terms of cancer screening, to business leaders in the community, medical professionals, cancer patients and the general public. An expert panel will present unique points of views addressing this topic and the audience would be encouraged to come prepared with questions. Check back for more details.
