Troy Drahos Benefit
Friday May 4th, 2007
A benefit dinner was held for Troy Drahos was held in Hutchinson on May 4th. Troy was diagnosed at age 36 with stage 3 colon cancer and underwent rigorous chemotherapy after his surgery. The event was attended by about 600 people and raised $16,000 after expenses.
The Colon Cancer Coalition was happy to provide educational information and goodie bag back packs to the event and worked with our sponsor, Sanofi-Aventis, to have Colon Cancer Awareness Bracelets available for attendants. The family took the remaining bags and gave them to each participant in a charity golf tournament they held later in the summer so the word was spread far and wide.
Our thanks to Jeanette Krommenhoek for inviting the Coalition to be a part of this special event. Our best wishes to Troy and his family during his recovery.
